A 1.5 ton increase in ASF firing with a Pillard PFZ? injector

This 23.3MW Pillard PFZ? injector, purchased in March 2020, is now being used as a support for the kiln’s 60.5MW Pillard ROTAFLAM? burner. The purpose of the purchase order was to increase the amount of alternative fuel fired in the rotary kiln. Until its purchase, ASF was conveyed directly into the center of the kiln burner but the flow rate was limited to 3.5 t/h.
Further to its commissioning, the equipment was able to fire 4.5 t/h of ASF (30% more than before) which corresponds to an overall substitution rate of 35%.
A shortening of the firing zone was also observed, improving furnace operation.
